Uzma Gul is daughter of Late General Hamid Gul. She is the Pak Kashmir Women Alliance chairperson and Jammu Kashmir Solidarity Movement. She is the CEO of Varan Tours, which is very popular and notorious nowadays.
Biography
Uzma Gul born on August 16, 1994 in Quetta. His father, Hameed Gul, was an army officer who remained DG ISI and was very popular, especially concerning his role in the Pak-Afghan War. Besides his father, she has inspiration from Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mahathir Muhammad, Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
She enjoys listening to classical music, especially Fareeda Khanum, Iqbal Bano, and K.L. Sehgal. She is a sportsman; she is good at swimming. She is fond of water sports. She has an interest in watching tennis. She is a fan of famous tennis players, including Rafael Nadal, Justine Henin and Maria Sharapova.
Uzma loves pets, especially cats. She has a particular interest in farming. Uzma has two brothers and a sister. She is the eldest one. Uzma is married to a fighter pilot in the PAF.
Childhood and Education
Uzma Gul was a very naughty, super-active child. She started her early education in her city of birth, Quetta. After matriculation, she joined CB College Rawalpindi and completed her intermediate. Soon after the intermediate, her parents arranged her marriage with her cousin. She continued her education after her marriage. She graduated from the Punjab University.
Business
Uzma is the CEO of the Urban bus service Varan Tours. The company operates between Rawalpindi and Sargodha. She also started an import-export business. She mainly deals in Pharmaceuticals, wool and beverages.
Varan Tour Bus Monopoly
Varan Tour is the only bus service operating between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. No other bus service is allowed to drive between twin cities. Pakistan People’s Party parliamentarians have warned the government to stop Varan Tour buses. They want to control the monopoly of Varan Tour buses between the two cities.
Tanvir Qaiser wrote in Daily Pakistan that the bus service run by Uzma Gul had killed 17 people in four years. In January, a Varan bus killed a student; in response, the students set on fire ten buses of the Varan group.
Uzma Gul, in response, said to disallow motorbikes to students. There is a high heat between the Varan group and the students. In Rawalpindi, Varan Tours has 12 legal complaints. In response, Varan has filed 26 complaints against students.
In 1994, the police arrested Uzma and kept her in police custody. People said that her father played an influential role. She started the business by running only one bus from Sargodha to Rawalpindi in 1994. Later, she started exporting medicines to Central Asia. Her transport business is expanding, and she owns a fleet of buses. However, the bus service offers minimal services to passengers.
There are many authorities against Uzma Gul in this matter. There is a clash between Uzma and Corps commander Rawalpindi over the addition of her buses. The army owns the land of the adda. DC Rawalpindi Major Zia ul Haq started harassing Uzma.
Marriage
Uzma’s parents arranged her marriage soon after she did intermediate. Her husband supported her in further studies; therefore, she completed her graduation after the wedding.
Chairperson
Uzma Gul is the chairperson of the Jammu Kashmir Solidarity Movement. She is also the chairperson of the Pak Kashmir Women Alliance. She is a brave lady. During a program of the Kashmir movement, Uzma said that Jihad is necessary for the freedom of Kashmir. She added that the international community is not going to solve the Kashmir issue.
Conclusion
Uzma is a brave lady and a brave father. She is giving her service for the cause of Kashmir. However, she has also had some scandals, especially the Varan bus issue.
