Mubasher Lucman is a Pakistani film director, broadcaster, columnist, and former caretaker Provincial Minister of Punjab in 2007-08. In 2007-08, he was also appointed as caretaker Minister of Punjab for information technology, and communications.
Mubasher Lucman, the son of film director-producer Luqman (1922-1994), is a graduate of both Aitchison College Lahore and Government College Lahore.
Mubasher rose to prominence in his teens as a result of his theatrical performances. He cited and directed several productions. His first job was at the Lahore Hilton (now Avari) as a lifeguard, which involved cleaning pool toilet areas and collecting linen.
Mubasher Lucman later worked as a copywriter for an advertising agency. He had worked in Pakistan’s advertising sector for numerous years, demonstrating his abilities through scripts for prominent local and foreign brands such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, and many others.
Following this, Mubasher Lucman established his own production firm, which developed software and content for Pakistani television channels. Mubasher Lucman has also held major positions in corporate fields such as WorldCall Group, ARY Digital, NTM (First Private Television Network of Pakistan), PAKTEL, and others.In 2006, Mubasher Lucman produced, co-wrote, and directed the film Pehla Pehla Pyaar, which starred Resham and Ali Tabish.
Mubasher Lucman started anchoring as a host from the channel Business Plus. He then joined Express-News as a host of the program Point Blank and later moved to Dunya News to host the Khari Baat Lucman Ke Sath program.
He then became the host of Khara Sach on ARY News. Mubasher then briefly joined BOL Network, a newly launched TV channel at the time, with his show Meri Jang. However, due to the Axact controversy, PEMRA banned the station. After a while, Mubasher returned to Samaa to continue his famous show Khara Sach with Mubasher Lucman which he later left.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) banned his show Khara Sach in 2014 due to Lucman’s controversial statements.
