Pakistan Tehreek Insaf
Imran Khan founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on April 25 1996, in Lahore. In no time, it gained enough popularity to be competitive against the well-known parties PMLN and PPP. In 2013, it became prominent by getting the second-highest number of votes.
The party took power in KPK. In 2018, it got more excited by gaining the maximum number of votes, resulting in Imran Khan becoming Pakistan’s prime minister. However, in the fourth year of his government the opponents made no confidence movement, resulting in the decline of Khan’s government. Despite this, PTI is still the most popular party in Pakistan, especially among youth.
Political Journey
The caretaker Prime Minister Moeenuddin Ahmad appointed Imran Khan as the ambassador for tourism. Khan became part of the Jamiat-e-Pasban, an off-shoot of Jamaat-e-Islami of Hamid Gul and Muhammad Ali Durrani. Finally, in 1996, Imran led the foundation of his political party, PTI.
Initially, he needed to get entry into the National Assembly. However, in the 2013 election, PTI failed to win too many seats but took the maximum number of votes across the country.
In 2018, PTI gained the maximum seats while other political parties, mainly PMLN, had a lousy time, condemned by allegations. As a result, Imran Khan became the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Relations with the Military
He has established good relations with the Army before the elections of 2018. These relations remained good in the first two years of his government. In the third year of Khan’s government, conflicts started between Imran and the Army. Gradually, things became worse.

Imran Khan has fulfilled his dream to construct the first cancer hospital in Lahore named after his mother, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
In Shaukat Khanam, needy people are treated free of cost and get facilities similar to those available to ordinary persons. Later, Imran Khan created another cancer hospital in Peshawar.
Education Reforms
During Khan’s tenure, two reforms are especially mentionable. In schools, the PTI government has been forced to teach a single national curriculum to bring standardisation to the education system. Many schools adopted the curriculum initially, but after some time, many schools started deviating from the single curriculum.
At the university level, it is felt that students should read the Quran with translation. Therefore, universities must teach the complete Quran with translation during a four-year bachelor program. The education department has also ordered that the Quran with translation be made compulsory every semester.
Allegations
He was arrested by parliamentary troops accused of corruption, a land deal involving Al Qadir trust, and for not cooperating with the anti-graft agency’s investigations. However, he denied the allegations and said he was detained on incorrect charges.
