Hina Parvez Butt is a Pakistani politician and member of PML-N who serves in the Punjab Provincial Assembly on a reserved seat for women.
Early Life and Education
Hina Parvez Butt was born in Lahore on January 19, 1982.
Her primary schooling was at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Lahore. She got her B.Sc (Hons) Computer Sciences in 2004 and her Master of Business Administration degree in 2010 from Lahore University of Management Sciences winning twice the Dean’s Honour List Awards for B.Sc and MBA.
She also earned a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Middlesex University campus in Dubai in 2016.

Hina Butt was most inspired by Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s fortitude, courage, and defiance. Hina Butt was inspired by how Maryam Nawaz stood by her father and led the party forward as a strong female leader. According to Hina, Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s political career began under challenging circumstances: there was opposition from both inside and outside the party. Historically, the PML-N was not known for bringing females to the political forefront, but Maryam’s ascent was a deliberate, well-thought-out choice by the party leadership. She surpassed all expectations and astounded everyone with her incredible bravery, tenacity, insight, and conviction in navigating through.
Political Triumph in 2018 Elections
She was elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly as a PML-N candidate on a reserved seat for women in the 2018 Pakistani general election.
NGO Involvement and Journalism
Hina is involved with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that work on programmes that empower women, minorities, youth, and domestic workers. She has been writing weekly articles for two well-known Pakistani newspapers, the Daily Times and Jang.

Harvard Kennedy School Selection
Hina has been chosen to attend the Harvard Kennedy School Education Module, ‘Global Leadership and Public Policy for the Twenty-First Century,’ in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

She recently received a certificate in “Transformational Leadership: Leadership on the Edges” from Oxford University.
Ambassadorial Role
She has often attended World Economic Forum summits, and YGL Summits, and represented Pakistan at the Asia Pacific Summit 2019 in Cambodia.
Leadership Roles in Women's Parliamentary Caucus
She served as the Secretary General of the First Women Parliamentary Caucus of Punjab in 2015-16 and is currently the Women Health Representative of the Women Caucus.
Controversy
Hina Pervaiz Butt is claimed to have gotten her job because of her father, Pervaiz Akhtar Butt’s, riches and connections, which is usual in Pakistan. but she denied this, claiming that “saying such a thing about women who become lawmakers on reserved seats was inappropriate.”
