Avionics engineering is a subfield of aeronautical engineering that deals with electronic systems used in aircraft, artificial satellites, and spacecraft. Basically, it deals with the systems that are required for the plane to function properly. Simply said, avionics is the design, development, testing, and repair of electronics and communication systems in aircraft and spacecraft.
Avionics Engineering refers to all electrical, electronic, and associated systems used in the aviation sector. As a result, it covers the fundamentals of a wide range of subjects, such as radio and radar, navigation and guiding, communications and networking, power electronics, controls, and electro-optics. The department offers Master’s and PhD degrees in Avionics and Electrical Engineering, as well as a variety of research streams such as RF and Microwave, Guidance Navigation and Control, Signal Processing, Telecom/Communication Systems, Solid State Electronics, Digital Systems, Power, and AI Autonomous Systems. The department has well-equipped labs and cutting-edge teaching facilities to facilitate and enhance knowledge acquisition, as well as hands-on training covering the most recent Avionics engineering curriculum.

Eligibility Criteria
BE/B.Sc. Engineering (Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Chemical) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent. A minimum of 60% in AU-GAT(Gen) or 50% in NTS-GAT(Gen). This must be completed before entrance to the MS program.
Scope
Avionics Engineering is a highly demanding field. Job opportunities are scarce, but those that do provide a high-quality wage package as well as excellent social prestige. With the influx of space technology in Pakistan and the Pakistan Air Force striving for better homegrown fighter jets, the scope of avionics is expanding by the day. In the commercial sector, every airline requires Avionics Engineers to maintain their aircraft. Good career chances are also accessible in commercial airlines.
Merit is often high in universities, ranging from 80 to 90%.
