Zoology is the scientific study of animals’ features and classifications. Zoology is a dynamic and expanding field with important implications for modern civilization. Knowledge of animal biology helps to develop strategies for reducing and dealing with pollution, pursuing renewable energy sources, dealing with environmental changes, discovering novel biologically based solutions to human/animal diseases, and developing biopharmaceuticals. Zoology is becoming acknowledged as an important field for understanding and protecting our environment.

BS Zoology has been developed to adapt to a continually changing world. This issue plays an important role in human resource development, food security, environmental conservation, sustainable development, and, ultimately, poverty alleviation. The program is thoroughly based in the fundamental sciences (general biology, chemistry, and arithmetic) required to understand the most recent animal biology studies. It also provides a wide number of options in upper-level animal biology courses, allowing students to adapt their degrees to their specific interests in zoology.
