Criminology is a socially oriented legal discipline that applies to all aspects of delinquency and crime prevention. It uses scientific approaches to find, investigate, and analyze the external and internal elements that contribute to crime at all levels.
Its structure has four major levels, one of which is Clinical Criminology, also known as Applied Criminology, or, as Professor Ernesto Pérez González prefers to describe it, a compact format with the social goal of applying criminological objectives to the process. Criminalization, in other words, individualizes the investigation.
From this perspective, criminology is no longer a theoretical discipline, theory, or notion because it actively intervenes in crime investigation processes, employs an interdisciplinary system, and has a beneficial impact on the processes. As a result, criminology is tied to humanity’s scientific-social history, and its origins, advancements, and viewpoints are linked to, rely on, and reflect human knowledge and activity.
