Agriculture, sometimes known as farming, is the process of simplifying nature’s food webs and redirecting energy for human and animal consumption. Agriculture entails redirecting the natural flow of the food web.

Agriculture has a significant impact on our daily lives. Agricultural sciences provide everything from the tea we drink to the veggies we eat, the grass on the cricket pitch to the natural fibers of the garments we wear and the medicines we take.

BS Agriculture (Horticulture) program is a comprehensive undergraduate educational program that aims to give students a solid foundation in horticulture and agricultural science. This program provides a broad curriculum that includes important areas including plant biology, crop production, plant breeding and genetics, soil science, pest control, and agricultural economics. Students will receive practical experience in greenhouse management, plant propagation, landscape design, and post-harvest technology.
