Biography

Aftab Iqbal is a well-known Pakistani journalist, comedian, and television host who is renowned for his engaging demeanour and amusing sense of humour. He was born in a Punjabi Arain family on September 9, 1961. He is the son of the famous poet Zafar Iqbal. He earned his master’s degree from Government College University (Lahore) in 1985, and in 1986, he graduated with a diploma inĀ  History of Mass Communications from San Jose State University in California.

Aftab Iqbal has a distinctive and memorable appearance. He has a kind, expressive face, and he often wears a well-groomed moustache that gives his face a certain charm. Family

Aftab Iqbal was raised in an Arain family. Aftab’s mother, Miraj Iqbal, passed away in November 2009, and his father, Zafar Iqbal, is a well-known Urdu poet and newspaper columnist for Pakistani newspapers for over 35 years. He has two brothers, Junaid Iqbal and Awais Iqbal, and one sister.

In November 1988, Aftab Iqbal got married to Nasreen Aftab. Nasreen, who is now retired, was a professor in Lahore. They have three daughters. The oldest child, Ayesha Noor Iqbal, is a lecturer at the University of Management and Technology.

Career

In 2009, “Hab-e-Haal,” a political comedy program, was where Aftab Iqbal debuted as a host. On Dunya TV, the program aired with two other prominent personalities Sohail Ahmed and Nawaz Anjum. The sarcastic comedy on current events included in this show was its claim to fame. In 2010, Aftab Iqbal departed this show.

Aftab Iqbal began performing on the Urdu and Punjabi comedy program “Khabarnaak” on Geo News in 2010. For four years, Aftab hosted the program, which featured renowned comedians Late Amanullah Khan and Iftikhar Thakur. In 2014, Aftab left the program.

2014 saw Aftab Iqbal serve as the anchor of Express News’ new comedy program, “Khabardaar.” This show featured renowned comic Nasir Chinyoti as well. The hilarious skits on the show were famous. Aftab Iqbal left the program in 2018, but he returned for the next season in 2021.

On his own channel, AAP News, Aftab Iqbal debuted a new program in 2018 called “Khabarzar.” The program featured the most important social, economic, and political news headlines from across the country.

On his own YouTube channel, which he began in 2017, Aftab Iqbal presents digital shows like “Khabarhar,” “Khabaryar,” “Open Mic Cafe with Aftab Iqbal,” and “Sarey Rang Punjab Dey.”In addition, he uploads his vacation vlogs and other popular videos. Aftab Iqbal created a brand-new YouTube channel called “Aftabiyan” in 2018 to display his vlogs, sitcoms, and exclusive clips from his other shows.
