Faysal Aziz Khan is a Pakistani investigative journalist. He currently anchors Bol News’s current affairs talk programme Ab Baat Hogi and serves as president and chief news officer of Bol Media Group. On PIAIC, he also serves as Strategic Advisor to Pakistan’s President, Arif Alvi.

Early Life and Education

Faysal was born on April 2, 1974, in Sukkur, Sindh Pakistan, into a Yusufzai Pathan family to government officer Abdul Qayyum Khan. Faysal completed his undergraduate studies in Science in 1993 at the University of Karachi. He then went on to get a master’s degree in Economics in 1995 and a second master’s degree in International Relations in 1997, all from the same institution.

Career

In 1996, Faysal started his career as a correspondent for the Urdu-language Daily Nawa-e-Waqt. He began working as a staff reporter for Daily Jang in 1998. In 2002, he became the youngest Bureau Chief at Geo News, where he remained for 12 years. He wrote a comprehensive special investigation report titled Kala Budget (Black Budget) of Karachi in 2013 while he was an investigative journalist for Geo News. The report revealed that Rs. 830 million had been stolen from Karachi city residents through illicit activities, money laundering, and corruption. He became president of Bol News in 2014 and afterwards the chief news officer of Bol Media Group. He currently anchors the Bol News chat show Ab Baat Hogi, which focuses on current affairs.

Having worked in journalism for 25 years, Faysal has received the awards listed below.

1999 – Best Reporter Award by Karachi Union of Journalists

2002 – Best IT Journalist Award by ITCN, Singapore

2011 – Pakistan Media Award by the Association of Television Journalists

2013 – Best Investigative Journalism by Pakistan Media Awards

2017 – Pakistan Excellence Award by Excellence Club of Pakistan
