An increasing number of people are at danger of infection due to medical advancements, increased longevity, and a rapidly growing global population. We were forced to create the Microbiology department under FLS due to the combination of the multi-drug resistant bacteria and the dearth of newer clinically effective anti-infective drugs. In order to develop new treatments and preventative measures against bacterial, fungal, and viral pathogens, the Molecular Microbiology Group’s research will focus on gaining new molecular and cellular insights into host-pathogen interactions, quorum sensing, the evolution of virulence, and drug resistance.
At least 3.00 CGPA or 60% marks in case of an annual system in MS/M.Phil. or equivalent in relevant fields. The GAT – Subject with a minimum of 60% marks required or a candidate will have to pass the University’s in-house admission test and interview with a 70% score.
With their enhanced professional skills, Ph.D. graduates will be prepared to seek careers in academia, industry, or the public health sector.
